The
demographics are clear; our elderly population is the fastest
growing segment in the nation. Seniors can have very specific
housing needs, and Hemstreet Development Corporation is
responding by creating a special division just to develop
and manage housing and service options for seniors. We started
by listening to seniors and their families. The foundation
of our communities and our services is built on their ideas
about senior living and what it means to “live life
to it’s fullest”. Our mission is to support
our residents’ independence and security so they can
do just that.

Independent
Living
Our communities are genuine senior communities where people
care for each other and share common interests. From our
cozy studios to our larger two-bedroom apartments, we offer
room to live. Each apartment includes fully equipped kitchens
and spacious rooms. There is a full range of amenities from
meals, transportation, housekeeping, beauty salon and a
wide range of social activities. We provide the conveniences
so our residents can enjoy life, by offering a lifestyle
for residents who want to retain their independence, and
spend time with others who have lived a full life. They
want to be in a community where they have security, worry
free maintenance, and a full range of exiting social activities.
Assisted Living
When someone is ready for a little more help with their
daily routine, assisted living and residential care is the
answer. Seniors choose their apartment and receive the care
and services they need in the comfort and privacy of their
own home. All apartments include a kitchenette with appliances,
handicapped accessible showers, and are ready to be decorated
with personal furnishings. Medication management, assistance
with dressing, showering and grooming, coordination with
healthcare providers, and social activities, are just a
few of the services we provide.
Memory Care
In our efforts to provide a continuum of services, we provide
housing and care for individuals with Alzheimer’s
disease or other types of dementia. Individual or shared
apartments in a home-like setting are the standard for those
with memory care needs. Specialized activities, secure courtyards,
and warm and friendly specially trained caregivers provide
for the day-to-day support needs of our residents. Individualized
services are provided with personal care, hygiene, supportive
reminders, meals, and medication management. We offer a
support group for the families and friends of individuals
with memory care needs. Our goal is for each individual
to have the right amount of personal care, support and structure
to feel as fulfilled as possible.
